A video captured from within K Kavitha’s Hyderabad home shows Rama Rao, also known as KTR, and the ED officials getting into a furious argument.
After K Kavitha of Bharat Rashtra Samithi was detained in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case, her brother, senior BRS member KT Rama Rao, and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officers who made the arrest got into a heated argument.
Rama Rao, often known as KTR, and the ED officials are seen getting into a heated argument in a video taken inside K Kavitha’s Hyderabad home. In the video, KTR claims that the authorities did not have the required transit warrant in order to lawfully transfer Kavitha, the daughter of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, to Delhi.
“Madam Bhanu Priya Meena says search is completed (and) arrest warrant is issued, but they don’t have a transit warrant,” KTR can be heard asking the ED officers in the video. And she’s saying the family can’t enter now?”
A judicial magistrate’s legal order, known as a transit warrant or transit remand order, places an arrested individual in police custody before allowing their legal transfer across state boundaries.
Kavitha is now anticipated to be transferred to Delhi for more interrogation, according to sources cited by NDTV.
In the videotaped altercation, KTR, his assistants, and the ED officials can be seen documenting the event and trying to outshout one another. There were apparently threats to disobey Supreme Court orders exchanged during this impasse.
According to the ED, Kavitha is a member of a “South group” that reportedly bought liquor licenses from the ruling Aam Aadmi Party of Delhi using the now-repeated liquor excise policy. Among the charges is the alleged payment of Rs 100 crore in bribery, which the AAP is said to have utilized for its electoral efforts.
Kavitha, who has already been questioned twice in relation to this case, has consistently declined to appear in response to numerous summonses from the ED and the CBI. She also filed a petition with the Supreme Court, claiming that it is illegal for the federal agencies to call suspected women into their offices.
Kavitha has continued to refute all allegations made against her and has charged that the BJP is using the ED to launch specific political attacks. Her apprehension corresponds with the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Telangana as a component of a significant outreach endeavor preceding the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
