Adhikari stated that Mamata Banerjee’s All-Faith demonstration, which was set for January 22, was granted permission by the police without delay.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) engaged in a rhetorical sparring match on Friday on their separate January 22 events. The BJP accused the TMC government in West Bengal of trying to sabotage the party’s celebrations associated with the Ram Temple event in Ayodhya. Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition, asserted that the police had refused to allow Ram Puja in several regions of the state.
“Why is it so difficult to perform Shree Ram Puja in this state alone? Such a predicament has never before encountered devotees in any other state. Why are the organizers being denied permission by the police based on such tenuous grounds? By planning Ram Puja, they are being persecuted as though they are breaking the law, Adhikari claimed.
Adhikari stated that Mamata Banerjee’s All-Faith demonstration, which was set for January 22, was granted permission by the police without delay.
Banerjee’s rally to encourage intercommunal unity in the state was granted approval by the Calcutta High Court on Monday.Banerjee had declined the offer to attend the January 22 temple ceremony in Ayodhya. Shashi Panja, the Industry Minister and senior TMC politician, criticized the BJP leader for his remarks.
“I would like to find out how low he will go. We vehemently denounce the BJP’s ongoing attempts to incite communal discord by disseminating false and misleading information. We also implore state authorities to act against those who try to inflame tensions between communities,” the speaker stated.
Leader of the TMC Kunal Ghosh called Adhikari’s comments untrue.
“First, BJP politicians are propagating rumors that the state government has ordered power outages in regions where Ram Pujas would be celebrated, using an outdated directive from the state energy board from the previous year. He is now fabricating claims that the programs cannot be held because authorization has not been given. It is illegal to do this. He stated, “We would like the police to move against Adhikari and other BJP leaders. To honor the consecration ceremony, the Bengal BJP has organized a number of celebrations.
Banerjee announced on Tuesday that she will organize a peace demonstration in Kolkata. A number of opposition figures have declined an offer to attend the Ram Temple ceremony on the grounds that the BJP has manipulated the event for political purposes.
