Lakshya will face defending champion Denmark’s Viktor Axelsen in the semi-finals. Viktor is ranked second in the world rankings. Lakshya Sen is ranked 22nd. The semi-final match is not going to be easy for Lakshya Sen. Lakshya Sen created history by defeating Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei 19-21, 21-15, 21-12 in the quarter-finals. This was the first time in the history of the Olympics that an Indian badminton player reached the semi-finals of the men’s singles. Lakshya Sen would like to secure a place in the finals by winning the semi-finals. He would also like to secure a silver medal for India.
