Lok Sabha elections West Bengal : In the Garbeta region of the West Midnapore district, Tudu was visiting a polling station when the BJP alleged that workers of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) attacked the caravan.
In Jhargram, West Bengal, during the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, a group backing BJP candidate Pranat Tudu came under heavy fire, injuring his security staff.
In the Garbeta region of the West Midnapore district, Tudu was visiting a polling station when the BJP alleged that workers of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) attacked the caravan. He filed a complaint about voters being threatened there, and that’s when this happened.
A video of the event showed the BJP candidate, his security detail, and many media teams being chased by a mob that was throwing stones. His security guards arrived quickly in spite of the attack and took him securely out of the area. During the event, the BJP leader’s vehicle sustained damage as well.
Tudu is running in a three-way race against Sonamani Tudu of the CPI(M) and Kalipada Soren of the Trinamool Congress.
However, the TMC refuted the BJP’s allegations and asserted that a woman was beaten by Tudu security guards outside a Garbeta polling place while she waited to cast her ballot.
“The BJP’s Nari-Biddeshi achoron is now demonstrated by their acts rather than only by words. Their assault on Bengal’s mothers and sisters is becoming more blatant by the hour, ranging from Central Forces ridiculing women’s modesty to BJP MP candidate Pranat Tudu’s security physically abusing a woman who was waiting to cast her ballot. What more can we expect from the PM’s subordinates when his own misogynistic behavior sets the tone?” The party stated on the microblogging platform X in a post.
The Jhargram parliamentary seat, which is situated in the West Bengali districts of West Medinipur and Purulia, is now conducting voting in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
