With one match remaining, England’s record-breaking total in men’s T20 Internationals helped them defeat the West Indies by 75 runs and tie the five-match series at 2-2.

With his second century in as many games, Phil Salt became the highest scoring Englishman in the format with 119 off just 57 balls, helping England to a massive 267-3 in 20 overs.

At the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad, Jos Buttler (55 from 29) and Liam Livingstone (54 from 21) both scored half-centuries after England was placed in to bat. Will Jacks, however, scored the fastest of England’s batsmen with an explosive 24 from nine balls.

England’s incredible innings featured 19 sixes, but the West Indies, who had lost a wicket to Moeen Ali’s first ball of the chase when he had Brandon King caught at short third, hammered 14 of their own in an impressive attempt to surpass the massive total.

The West Indies attempted an all-out attack, but with four and a half overs of the innings left, they were bowled out for 192 as wickets fell far too frequently.

With 51 from 26 balls, Andre Russell was the most productive batsman for the West Indies, while all six England bowlers claimed wickets. Adil Rashid made a notable impact with his 1-35 from four overs on a night when the rest of the attack was all over ten an over. Throughout the evening, Reece Topley’s 3-37 from 3.3 was the best score.

Andre Russell hits a massive six down the ground to begin a Reece Topley over with ten runs from the first two balls. He then reaches his half century from just 24 deliveries with a four to the long-off boundary.

However, Topley takes the game’s last wicket when a slower ball is hit high and not far enough, and Brook catches it.

In this amazing run-fest, West Indies are bowled out for 192, still 75 short.
