Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY)
Under this government-backed savings program, parents can open an account for their newborn daughter and keep it active until the child turns ten. During a financial year, deposits into the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account can be made for as little as ₹250 and as much as ₹1.5 lakh.
The account will mature after 21 years from the date of opening or when the girl marries after turning 18. The interest rate on this program is updated periodically by the central government.
Beti Bachao Beti Padhao
