Harrison’s participation in the New Year’s Six bowl game was not expected. Regarded as a generational wide receiver talent who is anticipated to be taken in the top half of the NFL draft the following spring, it had appeared likely that he would withdraw from the game, a recent practice among elite players in bowl games that do not qualify for the playoffs.
