Due to health concerns, Sushil Modi, the BJP’s most well-known figure in Bihar, decided not to run in the current Lok Sabha elections. On April 3, he made the announcement via a post on X, the former Twitter platform.

News Delhi Political Updates : Sushil Modi, a senior BJP leader, passed away on Monday night at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi. The 72-year-old had spent the last month in the AIIMS intensive care unit, where she was receiving treatment for cancer.
Due to his health, the BJP’s veteran leader, who was formerly the party’s most well-known figure in Bihar, decided not to run in the current Lok Sabha elections. On April 3, he made the announcement via a post on X, the former Twitter platform.

“Over the past six months, I have been fighting cancer. I think it’s finally time to tell people. I will be unable to participate in the Lok Sabha elections in any way. I have informed the PM of everything. “Always appreciative and devoted to the nation, Bihar, and the party,” his message stated.
It was anticipated that Bihar, where he had a significant impact on the party that had grown over three decades, would be the most affected by his departure.
In two terms spanning over 11 years, from 2005 to 2020, he was Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar.

Senior BJP leaders Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Ravi Shankar Prasad also expressed their condolences for him.

“The news of our senior leader Sushil Kumar Modi ji’s passing saddens me. Bihar has lost a great political pioneer for all time today. Sushil ji has held numerous prominent roles in the government and organization, ranging from BJP to ABVP. His politics were devoted to upholding the rights of the underprivileged and disadvantaged. It will take a while to fill the gap that his passing has created in Bihar politics. The entire BJP is in solidarity with his grieving family during this difficult time. May God grant the departed soul a place at his lotus feet. In an unpolished translation, Mr. Shah said, “Om Shanti Shanti.”

“It is deeply sorrowful to learn about the passing of senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sushil Modi ji. We have collaborated on projects for the Vidhyarthi Parishad for a considerable amount of time. Bihar was Sushil Modi ji’s lifelong passion. Bihar has benefited greatly from Sushil Modi ji’s efforts in escaping jungle regime and beginning its journey toward prosperity. For many workers, his absence is an irreversible loss,” BJP chief JP Nadda wrote in his tweet.

Rajnath Singh wrote on social media, “His work for the development of Bihar will always be remembered.”
Jitan Ram Manjhi, the head of HAM and a former chief minister of Bihar, also expressed his condolences on X. “Heartfelt tribute to our dear friend, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and former Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sushil Kumar Modi ji on his demise,” the message stated.

Mamata Banerjee, the leader of the Trinamool Congress, and political opponent Tejashwi Yadav, who had filled Sushil Modi’s shoes during Nitish Kumar’s periods with the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal as part of the Grand Alliance, also expressed their condolences.

“We are sorry to learn of the untimely passing of former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sushil Kumar Modi. His family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers. Mamata Banerjee said, “May the departed soul rest in peace.”
“Deeply saddened to hear the news of the untimely demise of respected Shri Sushil Kumar Modi, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, our guardian, struggling and hardworking leader,” tweeted Tejashwi Yadav.
