Dr. Martin Luther – You can watch the celebrations and services live from home as Atlanta and the country honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Each year, The King Center honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with the theme “It Starts with Me: Shifting the Cultural Climate through Study and Practice of Kingian Nonviolence.”

Atlanta’s Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church hosts the yearly MLK Day Beloved Community Commemorative Service.

On Monday, January 15, 2024, at 10 a.m., the formal program starts. Deidra Dukes of FOX 5 Atlanta will present the program.

 

Who is the keynote speaker for the MLK Day Service in 2024?

Rev. Shavon Arline-Bradley, the founder principal and CEO of R.E.A.C.H. Beyond Solutions, an executive leadership, public health, and advocacy firm that promotes EDI, political and organizational strategy, risk management, government affairs, and technical assistance, will be the keynote speaker. She is also the president of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW).

Arline-Bradley served as the Department of Health and Human Services’ senior advisor and director of external engagement under the Obama Administration before starting her job with R.E.A.C.H. Beyond Solutions.

She had previously worked at the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) headquarters as chief of staff and executive vice president of partnerships and strategic planning.

Rev. Arline-Bradley has an Executive Certificate of Business Management from Howard University and an Executive Certificate in Diversity & Inclusion from Cornell University. She graduated with a master’s degree in public health from Tulane University as well as a bachelor’s degree in the same field from Virginia Union University’s Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology. Born in New Jersey, Arline-Bradley is passionate in business, politics, education, sisterhood, religion, and both local and global health.
